Do chocolate chip stars need day/night cycle?

Hey everyone. I have a chocolate chip star in my refugium where the light is on 24/7. Is that bad for it? Do they need a day/night cycle?
I had to put it in the refugium because it was getting picked on by a couple of fish, so that was my only immediate option. But I can always give it away if the refugium isn't good long term.

It probably doesn't matter, but would you like to be under light 24 hours a day??

Probably not, which is why I'm asking.
But I don't even know if they can sense light.

I'm pretty sure they can sense light....pretty much everything can

Just keep an eye on him....see if he starts deteriorating or anything.
Any reason why you run your fuge 24/7 instead of reverse Photo-period?

Starfish can sense light and dark. The 24 hours of light may eventually become a stress to the animal. Keep an eye on him, but based on my experience with starfish, I would say that in the long run, the constant light will be a detriment.

It just works for me to run the lights 24/7. Chaeto grows really fast and it keeps my nitrates under 10. If I run the light on a reverse cycle, then the nitrates hit around 20. I'll probably find the chocolate chip star a new home. If it senses light, then definitely don't want to keep it in there.
