Do clown fish have teeth?

I have a Percular clown (could be a false but not sure) and sometimes it bites my hand. It is surprising when it does it because you don't expect such a little mouth to be able to cause any pain.
Do they have teeth, or does it just suck very hard??

I don't think they have teeth in the tradional meaning but I do think that they have a very strong lower jaw that allows it to put a good nip on you. Mine is very old and may have lost his teeth if he had any :D I've never seen any teeth on mine.

My true perc does the same thing. It does suprise me when he does it. I have to make an effort not to jerk my hand out. Also, my cleaner wrasse, likes to "Clean" the little hair on my arms!!! And I thought that I was the only one that had defunked fish!! :D

YES!!!!! Clown fish have teeth. I am at the office now, but when I get home I will try to link in a close up shot of a clown head on that my wife took while diving in PNG. Really amazing how agressive those little guys can be!!

My tomato clown either has teeth or a couple orange saws in it's mouth. NJ that is an awesome pic your wife took! I hope you have it framed and hanging somewhere. Is she a professional photographer? Just curious, I come from a family of photographers.
Broomer5 as always your sense of humor is grand...ever write your aquariaholic book? I was sure sorry to see that thread float to the Pacific with the other June threads :(

Debi , Boomer thanks for the compliments on the photo, I passed them on to the wife. We spent the past two years living in Japan, and did a lot of diving in the South East Asia / Micronesia area. Now that we are back state-side she has indeed begun her own photo business. If your interested in seeing more of her underwater stuff its all posted on www.heroldphoto.com
Thanks!

broomer loves diy projects...even when it comes to making dentures for fish! However, in this case, I think he got the baracuda's choppers mixed up with the clown's...hehe
