Do Fish See color?

Not sure, but would think that they would. Why else would so many fish have different markings and colors for the males and females?

I read a National Geographic article on this a few months ago. It proved that they saw a different color than we did. Not sure what it was like, but it was not as vibrant and rainbow-like. It was all red or blue.

Any animal that has color in its plummage, coat, scales etc. can see color. Animals that are black, tan, white, etc. see in black and white. I am sure there are probably exceptions to this rule, if so forgive me!
