Do hermit crabs molt??

Just a quick question...do hermit crabs molt? I know that they grow out of their shells, but do they molt in the process?? I found the body of a hermit crab today and I'm wondering if it was a fatality or an exoskeleton...any ideas??

Yes.
This also means they are growing, so make sure you have lots of extra "homes" for them to move into.

Every time they grow they must molt 1st. The molt is a identical replica of the crab. most likey sounds like a molt. and have plenty of spare shells in the tank.
