tell us about your tank, what are the other inhabitants, equipment, parameters, etc.

Well, first you would need to give soome more details on your main tank. Size, when did you set it up, list of livestock, filtration. And anything else you can think of about your tank. Also, what kind of saltwater experience do you have? What seahorses did you plan on keeping? This will give a better idea of what advise to give

That tank is already maxed out. You also haven't listed how old it is, and your experince with saltwater.
You came to the right place to start. You'll need to read through the posts on here and you can also go to seahorse dot org and read through their library and some threads. Seahorses are very delicate and require alot more care. Read up on them and then deside if you still want them. If you do deside what ones you would prefer and read up on their requirements. They all are different and some require different kids of setups.
Good luck and have fun searching.

Sorry, Its really to small for larger horses along with the fact you have quite a bit in a 20 gal tank, the clowns are aggressive eaters. Horses really need a tank that is 3x thier height, with low to med flow. Crabs are not good tank mates for horses. Horses are very slow and can easily be hurt by them.

I definitely have to concur with the previous opinions. How long have you had the pipefish? Best of luck with it...my suggestion would be to set up a species only seahorse/pipefish tank...could your LFS hold the pipefish long enough for you to get that established? Or, do you know of someone with a species tank who could take it for you until you're ready?
Again, best of luck. Let us know what you decide to do, 'kay?

Mmmmm, ok, you have a 20 gallon tank that's 2 months old with at least 5 critters that should have been added into a MUCH more established and larger tank...not to mention a wild caught pipefish...(any reason you didn't just leave the pipefish where it was?).
I think that I'm going to leave advice on this to others...hopefully someone will have something for you.

I would not add any seahorse to a tank with a wild cought pipe fish. they carry pathegins (spelling) that can and will harm your horse. Did you worm your pipe. wild cought pipes and horses need special care for thier health and feeding.
Seahorse should not be added to a tank that is not less then 3 to 6 mo old. IMO. They need very stable conditions.
