Do I Need a Chiller?

So I’ve had a 14 gallon Biocube for about a year and half now. It’s well established but my temperature is starting to worry me. I can’t seem to get the temp. under 84 degrees. I spoke to a few “experts” and they say this is a little worrisome but as long as it’s not varying by more than 3 or 4 degrees either way I should be okay. I’ve avoided going in the “chiller” direction simply due to cost but I’m afraid that I might need to go that way now. I currently have a clown goby and purple firefish, as well as some various corals (colt, torch, Duncan, polyps, shrooms). I’ve had the clown goby since the initial set-up of the tank so I’m not worried about him but I’ve had about three fish die within a few weeks of introduction over the past year. The firefish seems to be doing really well (about 2 weeks) but again I’m worried that the temp may be having a negative effect on my livestock. I’d like to get a clown or another firefish but I want to take care of this temperature issue first. Anyone have any suggestions on an alternative to a chiller? Or are there any inexpensive but quality “nano-chillers” out there? Please share your experience. Thanks in advance!

It's the Oceanic BioCube 14. So it has a stock hood, with

  • 48 Watt Compact Fluorescent Lighting

  • 1 - 24w 10,000K Lamp
    1 - 24w Actinic 03 Lamp
    Moon Glow Blue LED's

yeah the fans are working but apparently not good enough. i don't really feel much heat coming from the lights but that may be something i'll look into. honestly i don't even remember the wattage but i know it is never on just due to the fact that the water never dips below 80 degrees.

Yeah i checked it this morning, after the lights had been off for about 8 hours and the temp was 84 on the dot. I keep my home around 72-75 degrees at night.
