i have a 75 gal. tank with a oceanic trickle filter 250 with a iwaki 55 pump. thats all im running at the moment. all of my water parameters are good. the tank is three months old. i have 50lbs. lr and 120lbs. ls. bio load i would say low. just a couple of 1 1/2" fish and some inverts. i have a algea problem which im starting to get a handle on. would a protien skimmer help the algea problem? im leaning toward a euro reef skimmer if needed. are these skimmers worth the extra money? any other brand recomendations? or should i be good to go with just the trickle filter? thanks in advance for any input. oh when the tank matures alittle more i would like to add corals. thanks again

if it was my tank i would run at least a skimmer, or a fuge, or both. there are lots of folks who have sucess with no skimmer, but i see what mine removes even with my fuge, and i couldnt imagine taking it out of the system. lifereef, etss, euroreef, reefdevil are all top notch brands.

Skimmer for sure! Makes life easier in keeping a good clean tank..plus helps keep the fish happy!
