Do I still need a heater?

I would get one anyways just to be sure. Temps fluctuate everywhere.
Perhaps the question is if you need a chiller, or not?
I didn't realize NC was considered a tropical country lol. :)

a heater is still needed just in case temp drops. as stated above, chiller would be appropriate, or a fan blowing across the water.

I'd recommend a heater...better to have it in place than to find out the hard way. Are you located in NC?
I'd also add put the heater on a temp controller or if you have controller run it through that better yet.

you having a heater will only do good. sure. they will be off 99% of the time, but there that 1% that you will wish you had it.
More appropriately...what is your standing temp w/out a heater? Im betting even in the tropics, it still drops at night.
To be sure, put the water in the tank, and check it out at varying times.

I said "if" I live in tropical country, I didn't say that I do

Anyway I'm asking this because a friend asked me this question, and I don't know how to answer her

During the night the temperature drop at around 26 °C

That can be read both ways. So orthogonal assessments are valid.
I did think it was odd since I don't consider NC a tropical country.
Just pass word on to your friend.
