do ick spots come and go in 1 day?

Last week we thought my dogfaced puffer had ick. So we started treating with copperfree med. Here's the kicker. His spots seem to come and go. Before we go to bed he may have 4 little spots on his left side. When we wake up there will be 3 spots on right side and 2 on face. Is it possable for us to be confusing small sand particles for ick. Or does ick cyst's really go away that quick. And then reapear. Our other fish show no signs of ick. The dog has been eating very well and seems healthy other then the moving spots.

If you are unsure about what your fish has then take a close look with a magnifying glass. Ich spots are smooth and round, sand is rough and irregular shaped.

Ich look like raised white spots. They can be pinpoint or the size of salt. Ich does come and go. It's part of the life cycle of ich.
