For hang on filters the Emporer 400 is about the best wet dry there is.
You really need to throw in some periods and capital letters so people can understand what you are saying.

Punctuation does help :)
Is there a problem with your filtration? I'm confused what you are asking. Your title was is there hang on the back wet/dry but a wet/dry is essentially your emperor 400. Is there a hang on the back fuge/sump style. Yes. An Ecosystem 40 is one, but i don't know how big your tank is. Do a search for Ecosystem on the web they should pop up. Adding live sand at the moment will probalby just be a waste of your money. Let the live rock take care of that at this point. To turn over the sand some get some nassarious snails and cerith snails. They like to dig every now and again and won't mess with critters that live in the sand.

Isn't the bak-pak a protein skimmer/filter...a skilter so to speak? I have heard mixed reviews about this product.
I think magnum makes a HOB wet dry canister filter.

Yes the Bak-Pak has a built in protein skimmer also. However it also has a side filled with bio-balls or bio-bale that the water pours out of. Not sure if the bio-balls are fully submersed or not when its running.
Only hob products, other than the powerfilters under the Marineland/Magnum band that I know of is the HOB Magnum canister for carbon or micron filtration.

amiracle makes a hob tricckle wet/dry that has bio-balls and a skinmmer. it is just like one for under your tank except narrower and it hangs on the back. it is 24" long

Eheim makes a canister "wet/dry" called the professional and ProII. Another option you could look at.
