Used skimmers need time to break in, but not as much time as brand new ones.

my used skimmers require zero break in time. I've stuck both of my (out of commission) skimmers on various tanks and they immediately started to work. Once the manufacturing oils are gone they begin working quickly. they supposedly need to build a slime coat once in use which helps even more.
