I was just wondering my TIDE w/downey is NOW same price but half the size, Is this just a way for you to buy more of (x) product quicker? Do you find it performs exactly the same or is less efficient? What's your take?
Do you buy into that "2x or 4x" concentrated" scam?

it does work better and it does last longer. In fact, you don't even have to fill it to the lines like they say. Just below works as well, and you can get a few extra loads out of it. Concentrated is the way to go. Less packaging and smaller yet more efficient quantities means less laundry machines running and less plastic used up on jugs. CONCENTRATE

concentrate is an amazing thing. you can buy a frozen small tube of orange concentrate and make a ton of oj just by adding water.
its all in the formulation of the product. when they formulate it, water is always added. remove the water, or crystalize it like a betaine, and now you have a viscous product with less water. less water = more efficient.
that is why they made these. these are to be used in front loaded washers, which use much much much less water than the top loaders.
think of it this way....
you put a 1/3 cup of salt into 1 gallon of rodi. mix it, and pour it into a 40 gal tank. what happens?
take that same 1/3 cup of salt, mix it into a 1/2 gal of rodi, and then put it into a 14 gal tank. now what happens?
