I have a 50 gal with pc lighting 2 55 watt. I had 2 96 watts but the got broke. (I have ordered two 96 watt bulbs to re place them, that should be here at any time). I have some one wanting to give me some zoos and shrooms and wanted to know if they will live under the 192 watts of pc lighting?

Halides are not needed for those corals, the 192 watt would be fine.

No they do not need halide lighting, but they will grow faster with more intense lighting!
I have many shrooms and zoos in my tank 60 gal w/ 260 watts of pc , they are doing fine but growing slowly!
I think the shrooms i will need to hide a little bit from the 800 halide i just ordered!

wait symon please dont tell me that you ordered 2 400 watt mh for over a 60 gallon...
do you know the amount of evaporation your gona get. i hope you have a chiller. plus your probably going to add the 260 pc to that as actinics.
thats 1060 watts over 60 gallons. thats a ton of light. IMO 2 150 watts would have been fine.

Symon-
He's exactly right. You'll definitely need a chiller. You've seen my lighting setup in person (510w) over my 50g, and I evaporate like crazy....about 2 gallons per day in the summer. Now that it's winter time, I am down to about 3/4 gallons per day.
I'm going to have to get a chiller for my setup when May/June rolls around. I know you plan on getting a bigger tank and all, but be forewarned.
RevRoy-
As I stated above, I have a 50g reef with a 400w halide and 2x55w actinics. Most people recommend using two halides over a 4' tank, but 1 MH gives me a place to put lower light corals (shrooms and leathers), while I can put my more light demanding corals towards more direct light. Everything has been working just fine.
To answer your question, you can keep zoos and shrooms under either of the lighting setups that you have. However it wasnt until I added a MH fixture that the colors of the shrooms/zoos got more vibrant, and the corals began to grow at a MUCH faster rate. Within 3 months of the MH being installed there are some zoos that are spreading so fast that I wish I hadn't even added them. The rate of growth has multiplied three fold.
So, yes you can keep zoos/shrooms under either lighting. Is it the best lighting for these corals? Probably not.

remember to top off your evaporation with fresh water, not saltwater like genius here did
