Nano reminds me...
Remember when Prince's song "party like it's 1999" came out, and we all thought that'd be SO FAR away!

Double header baseball games were a regular thing and you only had to pay for one game
The first doubleheader I went to was an astros game, they had a 3 hour gap between games for some festivities like an oldtimers game. However the first game lasted 18 innings, so I got 3 games for the price of one. It was glorious!

Going to date myself with these..
Electric trains were a toy instead of a collectors item.
Your -- car had to run on a track with with slots
Electric football and later the state of the art talking football
Your sound system was state of the art if your record player (google it) was stereo instead of mono.
8 track tapes were the latest fad
Black light posters
TV shows that advertised they were in color
TV commercials with musicians saying "I want my MTV" and thinking what the hell is MTV?

That is so true, and remember when the world was going to end because every computer in the world would shut down at Y2K! The buzz word was "Y2K compatable."
