No....I drip additives for calcium & alkalinity in the sump almost constantly and never turn the skimmer off except for an hour or so when I dose DT's Phytoplankton. I only turn it off when adding DT's because I want to insure the DT's spreads thru out the system and I'm convinced that my skimmer removes it. The rest of the time the skimmer is up and running.
I see... knowing that currently I do not have the means to dose my additives and I will simply add the recommended doseage straight into the sump, where my skimmer is located. Would everyone agree that I should shut my skimmer off for 30 mins or so after adding the additives?
