I use my speaker phone when I'm cooking and it requires me to have both hands in the bowl. That's usually about it though. I don't like trying to talk on the phone and cooking something that tedious. Balancing it between the chin and shoulder is not comfortable. lol

nooooo!! Can't stand it. At home maybe if I am busy with something. (last time I did I was painting my wainscoat in my kitchen
)
The LOUD public convo's are generally by narcissistic bafoons that don't realize that there is a real world going on........not just theirs. (lady in the grocery line one day! We ALL had to hear her convo. She totally ignored the person checking her groceries and the bagger) You should have heard all of us in line talking about her after she left.

Just start talking to the person on the phone . Make it a three way conversation.
That is a genius solution and one by one people would stop doing this

I don't use my phone for anything but texting. I know what you mean though. I hate it when people do this.

there is a time and place for the speaker phone... and a public place is NOT it... i think there should be a mandatory etiquette class for cell phones...

i use speaker when ever i can. i hardly ever hold the phone to my head. it doesnt bother me when people give me dirty looks
. i sleep just fine at night. but if iam at a resturant, ill try to be polite.

Agreed. My favorite line is usually a certain part of body either has a bad itch or a nasty rash.... Or if it's a guy with his wife or g/f on the phone, it's "oh man, look at the guy on speaker phone with that hot babe next to him....

One of the funniest things I ever saw was a lady holding the phone up to her ear and talking, and the phone was on speaker phone, so every one was listening. This was a couple years ago now before this was too prevelant and I did just pass her in the aisle. So I only got 10 seconds of her conversation.
She did look stupid though.

Using the speaker phone in public is bad enough. What's worse, in my opinion is using your cell phone while you're in the restroom.

Do you really think that whoever you are talking to wants to have your bodily functions as background 'music' to the conversation? Gross!

Yeah, and all of the germs on the keypad....not to mention the alltime quote "Honey.....will you grab my cellphone?" EWWW!!!! NO!!!! Let me get a Lysol sanitizing wipe and I'll think about it!

There was a guy in the womens clothing store, that I work at, tonight talking to his ex on his speaker cell. He had bought clothes for his daughter that were not the right size. He was all sweet to us and was yelling at his ex! She was telling him the right size and he was getting mad at her. He told her she had better just come get the right size because he is getting mad (different words used). Then turns back to us all kind, like we didn't hear the whole conversation!! I felt like saying..."Yeah, you are a jerk." It isn't as though we were busy and didn't offer him help. His ex wasn't being rude to him. He was just a mean person who can put up a two second front. The guy was a real jerk. It was very funny though that he acted as though we did not just hear him being so nasty to his ex about nothing. Take it off of speaker there buddy

See....now that would not be a conversation I'd be having on the speaker phone. Not to mention, people don't have to be so rude to their ex's all the time. Especially in a case where there's a child involved. Try to be somewhat amiable for the kid. Geez

Oh he was REALLY nasty to her. I can't say half of it on here. Then turned back to us as sweet as can be. His current girl was with him and would not say a word. The guy was a jerk to say the least. As mentioned by RU, speaker phone has a time and a place, NOT in public though. I really hate the small Blue tooth. I think there is a person talking to themselves, then see the little light through their hair. It is really bad with people that talk while moving their hands and start yelling at the person that they are talking to. I think, "Alright buddy, time for the meds now." Then see the little light LOL.

I'm the same way. What's really awkward is when you're in a room full of people with the earpiece and you're the only one that looks like you're not talking to yourself....it's a conspiracy!! lol

And as for the current girl, if it were me, I'd dump his butt right then and there. That's just a taste of the future in the present as far as I'm concerned. But to each their own I guess.
