Does anybody know anything about berlin skimmers?

I saw an ad for a berlin ho skimmer for $159. That seems pretty good considering that they are usually over $200. They are certainly impressive looking but are they any good?

If you are talking about a skimmer for a Berlin-style reef tank, then there is no such thing as a hob Berlin skimmer. Skimmers used in Berlin-style reef tanks are generally like three or four feet in length (or more!). Most likely the skimmer you saw was manufactured by a company called "Berlin" or they are using false advertising. Hope this helps.

Red Sea has made the berlin skimmer for a long time now. They are made to run in a sump or plumbed inline. They also do make a HOB model that is pretty darn bulky.

I have never been very impressed with the Red Sea Berlin Skimmers.
