hi
It is called a Foxface Lo (Lo Vulpinus)they are only poinus on there top fins, peacful fish and herbivores.they are excellent algea eaters but can tend to turn on your corals i have never had this happen but if you are going to put one in your reef get a juvinile there are alot of mixed opinions on this fish being reef safe like i said i choose this fish over tangs and i have never had a problem with them but each is differnt

depends on your rabbit fish but IME mine were always well fed and never developed a taste for corals. Underfed tangs will nip corals also. all fish can.I've had only good luck with foxface fish. I've had 2

There not much more venomous, if stung do the same thing as you would with a lion, put your hand or whatever got stung into hot water 105-115 or so. The foxface lo is the most common type of rabbitfish, the next is the Magnificant (sp) foxface, and there's a new others. Great fish, I'm putting one in my aggressive tank to help with keeping the algea down some. Alot hardier than almost any tang, do good with most fish of different temprements, but they aren't reef so.

Foxfaces are a kind of rabbitfish and are closely related to tangs. Diet is simailar to tangs consisting mostly of algae. Hey Silent Bob another SW hobbyist in Nacle!

they eat greens -- and will starve to death if you dont feed them greens --- flake food dont cut it

neither does shrimp or other meats they will try other foods but only there diet seems to keep them alive and well if not they very slowly waist away. they are a peiceful fish. and they are very attractive. I have had several types of rabbit fish and none have ever ate on corals this dont mean that they wont a fish if hungry enough will try to sample differnt things trying to find something to eat. if you do but a rabbit fish make shure you can aford to buythe foods it needs to stay alive and flourish.

We routinely stock foxfaces in the pet store where I work. They seem to be a hardy fish, as they have lived for months on end before being bought from our tanks.
A co-worker of mine was once accidentally stung by one of these fish as he rearranged some rocks in a tank. He didn't seem too inconvenienced by it...shook his hand and walked away.
