Does Anybody Suppliment Their Xenia?

i tossed mine in the corner and the stupid thing wont stop growing..it was 2 stalks when I got it a few months back..now its like 9 stalks

Not everyone has luck in having Xenia grow like crazy. I am one of those unlucky persons so I supplement mine with Iodine.

So we have 1 additive, IODINE" but my tank gets that 1 every two weeks, Train apparently they do better in "higher" nitrate tanks like mine, so consider that a blessing that you have low nitrates. MINE are trying to overtake the tank BUT my anemone is STINGING the crap out of the part that it trying to overtake its light. Doing a good job at it as well.

Well its not a blessing because I tried for two years before I could keep Xenia alive. I had my nitrates at zero and as high as 80 with no luck. It just would survive until I started dosing Iodine.

I have xynia in 5 tanks. The tank with PCs does by far the best and MHs only by far the worst. I do think less than stellar water quality helps them.

Sorry to jump in your thread, but I live in Miami Beach & only doing saltwater for 2 months , what LFS are you using, could you recommend a good one.

You are very very close to me, I am near 41st arthur godrey "small world" Well my favorites by far are Close to you "The fish collection on 163rd, THEN down south you must see Coral Reef Aquatics,, very very helpful. and House of fins. NIce collection and helpul people.

Thanks...The only one of those I went to was on 163rd The Fish Collection. He told me I didn't need to quarrantine my clown with ich, and sold me some ich attack, that he said he used all the time. He did have nice corals, but my tank isn't ready for that yet. Thanks for your help!!

Xenia......The first time I thinned out my Xenia I had it growing on the sides, back, front, everywhere. I traded 80 + stalks as big as your thumb to the local lfs. I have given them to everyone in our reef club. I have 500 watts of 14k mh's and t-5's as well.

my nitrates and phosphates are zero and my zenia grows like made i do feed my fish twice a day and my coral every few days and dont dose iodine or any other elements other than my kalk drip
