I've seen a couple.....kinda hard aquascaping IMO.....overflow would be in center of tank and to hide wiring and all would have to build a dry box into the overflow as well to run all wiring and plumbing.....but can be done

It can be done. I have three sides open on one DT. I think it would be very hard...You will have to figure out how to get electric to the inside of the tank if you want a power head. Lighting, and electric to it, will be problematic. Acrylic...How do you get electric to it...From above?

you could build a center island in the room essentially that goes to the ceiling. Drop power in from the ceiling if you wanted to. Not sure if thats the look you want, but its an option.

'Black'....If you want electric for lights and/or powerheads I would think you would have to have a console that goes to the ceiling.
I can't think of any other way if you want true 4 sided total tank veiwing.

I was in Usher's basement once (long story). He's got two tanks... maybe 125g each dividing his billiard/bar area from his theatre area in the basement... you walk between them, so each is visible from 3 sides. It's an amazing looking setup, but obviously he's got someone professionally taking care of them.
He didn't have a reef, they were both FO systems with artificial decorations. I think that's easier to do since you can be a bit more sparse in decor.

If you don't have a solid concrete pad floor, supplying power is simple. You would place a floor outlet underneath where you are going to place your aquarium. Cut out the area underneath your stand where you outlet is. You might even be able to seal it pretty well from water leaks with a plastic container (upside down) and some silicone sealent. Run your electrical cords into the container and seal the holes.
If you have a house like mine where it is an open vaulted ceiling and concrete pad for a floor....((remind me how I got talked into moving to Florida...oh yeah...a beautiful woman
)) Then your stuck with what you got dealing with placing them against the wall!!!

u can get one with the overflow in the middle of the tank. Just have to make sure everything else is in the basement. Or can fit under the stand. And put a Outlet under neith the stand for ur powerheads or if u are running everything under the stand. almost like having 3 bulkheads in the overflow with a peice of pvc to run the wires underneith the stand.

I think that would be the best idea. To run a PVC pipe up the center of the overflow to supply the power to the PH's. The Center lights would have to be run by an outlet in the ceiling which is possible because the ceiling will be opened up during the time my addition is being built. I would run everything else from my basement where the sump would be.

On my 3 sided one I have all plumbing to/from sump/refugium underneath and all electric from above (wanted to stay away from possible mixing of electric/water/salt creep). The overflow is centrally located.
Also, for aesthetics, you may want to have the maximum flow possible for your overflow. That way you can significantly reduce, or even eliminate the need for powerheads in the tank.
The tank I described above has no powerheads. I was not sure how that would work out but the reef, including sps(s) appear to be doing well.

Putting everything in the basement...
Owning houses that could never have basements you forget about those things...
Yes that woudl be the best. Plus if you ever moved it all you need to do is seal the holes and refloor it...
Priceless

You can sperate water and salt creep with a simple weather proof enclosure.
If you have low ceilings it probably wouldn't be bad at all, but I have 12-15 foot vaulted ceilings and a peice of conduit would look pretty hokey...
