Does Anyone Have An Akita?

I don't have an Akita, but I do have a story about one. I worked at a Vet clinic in college and we boarded dogs in the basement, we had this HUGE Akita come in for boarding, our kennels were solid on three sides and had heavy chain link doors (probably 10gage chain link). I came in one morning to see the akita running around , I looked at his kennel and he had chewed a huge hole in the chain link and got out!

I believe the Japanese bred them for fighting, back in the day of course. Interesting story.
