They really are cool. Kinda reminds me of Gonzo from the Muppets. From what I've read there not reef safe. They can kill anything they want with that big arrow on there heads.

I have had mine for 6 months or so in my reef. No problems at all. He just walks around scavaging. Pretty cool to look at.

I had one for several months. At first, he was a cool scavanger. Then he killed a hermit crab. I let it go as I had tons of them.
Then he got larger and killed a peppermint shrimp. That was about it. Before I could get him out that afternoon, I saw him corner a juvenile clown and try grabbing him. He went back to the pet store a few minutes later.
Soem have luck with them, many don't. I feel that they are reef safe when small.....but small crabs grow up quickly.

i had one and get rid of him. they are reef safe but they can cause some serious stress on your fish. mine use to poke at anything that would swim by it. not worth it imo.

i have one in my 50 gal cube with a ton of live rock and he gets along fine with most everybody...i think as long as you feed them pretty routinely they are pretty cool with most stuff.
i used to have a coral banded shrimp and constantly went after everything i had...even got himself a bangaii cardinal that he tore apart
