I need a temp probe and a serial cable for a Neptune Systems Aquacontroller 2. Neptune doesnt even make them anymore and told me I'm screwed in their own way. Does anyone have either of these?

Cool, thanks. I really wasn't too concerned about the cable as I knew I could probably find one or make one myself. I REALLY need that temp probe. Or if someone knows how to convert a temp probe.

I see replacement probes for neptune's systems being sold through other aquarium sites. Is that not the kind you need?
(edit) you did say the aqua 2 so I guess that wouldn't work.

Yeah, they are usually for the 3 and up. For some reason the two and below were different.

The temp probe might be an issue.....I gave my buddy my old 2 have to see if he's willing to part with it though

What is the difference between the two probes? Maybe its a simple modification like a connector or something.

The 2 and below are like a headphone jack, the 3 and up are like a telephone jack. Neptune told me there was no way to make one work, but they could be telling me that so I buy a new one. They did offer me 10% off a new unit. Lol. That would be great if your buddy would part with it, let me know.

There are always fixes. Just because the connectors are different doesn't necessarily mean that you can't hack them off and throw something new on there. As long as the new probes use the same amount of conductors in their cable then I'd expect it possible to come up with something without too much difficulty.
