I was confused too. Coral CatFISH are pretty and school very tightly when small. Then they become plain, ugly,foot-long catfish. Pass the tarter sauce!

For the record - the term Coral Cat - in aggressive Saltwater terms - generally means the Coral Catshark (Atelomycterus marmoratus).
And Generally - most Catfish are found in fresh or brackish waters. not in Saltwater.

Coral catfish,Phetusus angularis), used to be seen in lfs quite a bit. They're very common on indo-pacific reefs. The gaff topsail catfish is also a true marine fish; I believe.

Yes - I know there are species of marine catfish. Which is why I said Generally Most - and not All.
I also find it interesting that people often say sharks aren't suited for home aquaria - but rarely say anything about catfish.
And some of the more popular species of catfish found in LFS - can grow larger than most species of sharks suited "home aquaria".
For example both - the Redtail Catfish & Iridescent Shark(catfish) are both know to reach 48" or more in length. Which is larger than any Bamboo, Epaulette or coral catshark.

redtail sharks, Epalzeorhynchos bicolor, get 4-5", but irridescent sharks, Pangasius spp, get huge like you said.
