If I set up my tank for cycling with sand, ls, lr, skimer and powerheads, let it cycle for 1 month without fish will the coraline grow without my lighting system im place?
Corraline algae does not need high intensity light to grow. It does need light though. I have it growing like crazy in my refugium with 45watts of NO flourescents. Don't expect it to grow too much while cycling the taank. It sometimes takes awhile to start spreading.
