I have been battling ich. I had a 30 gallon tank with just fish for 5 years and i never had a qt tank, lost minimal fish and never knew what ich looked like. Now i have a 80 gallon tank with 10 pounds of rock, 40 pounds currently curing. Lost several fish using no-ich from Foster-Smith. Went 5 weeks added, scooter blenny, hawkfish, and bicolor pseudochromis. After a week the bicolor had spots..it just died right away. Everything else is clear. I have a chocolate drop star and a bristle star also. I have been reading the forum and am getting a tank together for the blenny and bi-color...Can the star fish get this..Also,can their be ich in the new rock i am curing..in another tub? HELP?...RICK

Ich is a fish disease, thus only fish "get it". However, the parasite can be introduced into the tank if it happens to be on live rock.
If you treat the fish and leave them in the QT for at least 3 wks after the battle with ich is over, and you don't add any new fish to main tank in the mean time, whatever ich that is in your tank, or on the new LR will die off. Fish host ich, not inverts or rocks.
