i am looking at two tanks and dont know what one to get. The first one is a 150 gallon long tank and the other is a 220 tall. Some say the tall tanks are no good for saltwater fish, can someone help.

i would always go bigger. my wife says bigger is not important, but i tend to disagree agree. ;)

The drawback to tall tanks is twofold, 1) hard as heck to get to the bottom for maintenance and 2) more lighting is required if you have any hopes of keeping "light hungry" corals etc toward the bottom of the tank.
Just my .02 of course,

is this going to be a fish only or a reef tank. the only drawback to the taller tank if its a reef tank is that it will need more intense lighting to reach the bottom. if its a fish only, the more water volume the better.
