Does SWF.COM Quarantine

Does anyone know if swf.com has a period before they list a fish for sale, or do they add post them onto the site as soon as they get them. Just wondering because I know some sites "Say" they wait 10 days or 2 weeks but it makes you think.

most likely they, like any other fish store, would try to sell them as soon as they get the product in stock.

I agree,it would not be cost effective to QT large quantites of fish for 6 weeks.

They have the 15 day guarantee, which makes me think they would make sure the fish is eating and in good health. When I first got into this I didn't quarantine and the only time I would have problems was if I didn't wait for my local store to hold it for 2 weeks/ kind of like letting them do it.

just as an observation here. now I have seen how limited their selection is at times (most of the time) this would lead me to believe they dont just buy from anyone, using only reputable wholesalers with good ethics and practices can severly limit supply.

Yeah I've never had any bad luck with anything I've bought from them. Today I jumped on the show size Powder Blue they had listed for $99 Can't wait to see how it looks in person, and I know they hard to keep I'm nervous already even though I know my sysytem is ready for him.

I like many others are hesitant to order online.I made my first live fish order from Saltwaterfish about a week and a half ago.I bought 7 different anthias, one even being an Evansi which is considered a difficult anthias. All of them arrived alive and all(even the evansi)is eating voraciously.I couldn't be more please. Will be ordering more anthias or other fish from them, maybe even this weekend.

This site does an awesome job of offering reasonable fish. I've noticed over the past few months they have been selling XXL or show size specimens, I never saw that 'B4. I hope it's successful; I personaly only like to by big fish cause I have big tanks, and the med/lrg/xxl don't due my tanks justice. After this PBT I'm just about maxed out!

What are you asking then? If you want to know why there is a wait on some fish it is because not all fish are available at all times. I owned an LFS, fish are available durring the time that they are able to be caught. They come from all over but there are times that certain fish are not available.

Well, the main idea on this post was: does swf.com take any time to check out there product or do they just sell what they can? I've always believed in the livestock here and hopefuly always will. I love this site and have learned from other members here. Any fish I've bought here I've just drip acclimated to my display tank, when I see an 8 in Acanthurus leucosternon on this site and buy it for $100 I would like to know as much as possible. This to me seems unreal. A Show size PBT for 100 bucks?

That is a good price for an 8" powder blue. They are very likely to come in with ich. If you do get one be SURE to qt and be ready to treat the fish if need be.
