Does the "stinging" of a lionfish hurt the fish?

Hi guys, my dwarf zebra lionfish stung my husband a few days ago. Husband is fine but fish has not been out since. Posted on "LionfishLair.com", But just wanted to know if anyone here has had experience with this. Thanks!

The fish stung your husband because it was sure it was about to die and was being attacked...so yep it's very much afraid, and hiding.... in case that weird fish it stung shows up again.

OK, that makes sense. (Nice the way I was worried about the fish and not the husband huh!?!!!) (I had already taken care of him actually) but I feel so bad for him (the fish) he never misses a meal and he's soooo docile. Husband thought his hand AND the fish would fit in the corner (pump suction cups off) and the fish did NOT agree! Just got so scared tryin to get out of there. Thanks so much Flower, you know how we worry about our aquadic children. Appreciate you letting me know. Hope all is well with you, Wendy

just keep an eye on him. the actual stinging part should not hurt the lion fish but the rocks are jagged and if he darted into them he may have hurt himself trying to get away from your husband.
When he does show back up look at his body and make sure there are not any sores that are infected that you have to treat.
