Not if you're lucky.
It is very stressful on a puffer to blow up, and you should try to avoid it if at all possible.

I've had one for ~2 years now and I've never seen him inflate. from what I hear, that's a good thing. he's quite a character

yea the valintine does puff up but not twice the size, but they are cool. When they puff up it normally leads to death
