I was going to purchase a puppy CHIHUAHUA. I was wondering if it was possible to train a female CHIHUAHUA to litter train like a cat would. The reason for this is because I am not aloud to have pets where I live and could not walk the dog outside. I know that when a dog is a puppy they tell you to paper train the dog do you think its possible to litter train the puppy?????

my grandma's dalmation allways use to "potty" in one corner of the back yard

I am lucky in because my condo is of concrete construction. All of the walls are solid and never have noise problems with the neighbors. His yipping could not be louder the my home theater system

Go for it. It think those dogs are very cute and a friend of my Moms takes her EVERYWHERE and no one knows. She just stays in her "purse".

yes you can litterbox train a puppy, basically the same way you train them to go outside, you just take them to the same spot over and over. It is in a dogs nature to go to the same spot to potty. I knew of someone who had small dogs and lived in an apt. on the third floor. She would buy scraps of sod and keep them on the balcony and she trained the dog to go in that.
good luck!

Don't get it. Someone will find out and you'll have to get rid of the dog. Never fails. Wait until you move away from this place.

I see it all the time at the vet clinic. We try to help them find homes, but we have had to euthanize some because no one else would take them.
