how big will my dogface puffer get? right now he is only about 3 inches long. how long will it take for him to reach his max size? do i need to think about a bigger tank... i have a 30 gallon.

you should get a larger tank, at least a 90 gal..it is (ok) for a month or two but really needs a lot more room to be happy,they eat alot including any fish in your tank that will fit in its mouth, and because they eat so much it could put a strain on your bio filterization in a 30 gal..that particular fish can grow up to 15 in. in a couple of yrs

thanks, i did not realize it would get quite that big, i thought 10 inches at the most. my lfs had one about that big and they told me it would not get any bigger <img src="graemlins//confused.gif" border="0" alt="[confused]" /> and it was a dog face.

oh and i am planning on a bigger tank (90) in the near future as a stated on another post. what could a safely put in with my puffer?
