What are your water parameters?
What kind of water are you using?
Have you treated the tank with any medications?

ammonia and nitrites are 0 ph 8.0. used tap to start tank but that's getting cycled out with ro on water changes. haven't used any meds. i have 3 or 4 hermits a snail, an emerald and a peppermint shrimp that are all doing fine, but just don't have any luck with fish in there

hmmm, thats strange.... only thing i can think of is.... those fish were infected with some sort of disease before you purchased it.
how long have you had the tank?

tanks been running for about 4 months, i can see how the tang and skunk clown might have been infected before i got them, but my clarkii was happy and healthy for 2 months. i guess i'll just let the tank sit fishless for a few weeks and try again

Sorry to hear about your losses blondie. Before you add fish to your display tank again you might want to look into
getting a qt tank. Doesn't have to be big. Tangs especially are vunerable to fungal infections and ich. Plus the stress of being added to a new tank. Now if he develops an infection its impossible to treat in your display tank plus your other prized fish become infected. Do searches in the disease forum on qt. All newly purchased fish even the first fish going into your display tank should be qt and observed for any problems. Just my opinion......

i acclimate the fish for about an hour adding about 3/4 cup water from my tank to the bag every 15 min while floating it in the tank. i know the drip method is better, but how do you get the water to drip instead of a steady flow? there is nothing left in the tank now except inverts, i had moved my other clarkii and damsels to my 30 gal a few weeks ago

I use some air line and tie a knot in the line and just tighten to get the desired flow. You might want to run some poly filters just to see if anything shows up. Sorry about your loss.

If they are infected with something and you add them to your display you are adding that into the tank aswell. so if the new fish were infected they could have infected the exsisting fish after the were added to the tank.
since everything else is fine I think its something that got into the tank probably through adding new fish to the tank.
sorry about your losses and hope you get everything straightened out.
