i recently purchased a dosing kit for Alkalinity ,Calcium, Magnesium...
I currently only need to dose calcium and magnesium. my alk is alittle high. i have a 125DT with a 55g sump. total water volume. say 160 gallons. so when i go to dose. should i be dosing the 125DT or dosing the entire system (160g)?????

Dose based on the total water volume and keep notes it will help in the long run.

I use a log to calculate how many ml my tanks need. Start dosing a small amount and gradually increase until your desired levels are reached.

What brand are you using, what are your current params, where do you want your params to be? I have a dosing calculator online.

ESV is the brand name.... my params are
Alk=4.80
Cal=380 (roughly)
Mag= no test kit. so not trying to dose this until i purchase a kit....
where i would like them to be.....(average)
Alk=3 (around about)
Cal=400 (idealy)
Mag= 1200-1300 (i think this is common level)
Edit: im an nervous about this dosing process, cause i do have a decent amount of corals. so dosing is pritty much a curtainty. so i want to get this right. unfortunately for me i am much better seeing someone else dose, then me do it. rather than heres the bottles and the tank, go get em champ.......

The calculator only figures to increase, not decrease. It will also tell you the proper balance of alk and calcium. 425ppm cal/3.2meql alk(for example)
