Update, the eggs hatched last night. I checked the tank around eleven and sure enough there was a little cloud of babies at the surface. I carefully collected what I could unfortunately no babies survived. The collection process although carefully done must have been tough on them and the cupramine probably had a lot to do with these losses. I am hoping for better luck next time, unfortunately the dottybacks will probably spawn a few more times before I can remove the cupramine from the system. But the losses of a few spawns are well worth saving the lives of the dottybacks (and their future spawns). And I will never make the mistake of putting new fish in a tank with others without quarentining them first!
