this is jenny and i just copied my myspace bulletin post so ya'll could read the update and i did not have to retype. ignore the other stuff or read if ya want to.

as promised heres the update, the results of the cat scan said that tobins spleen has calcified,this is not neccesarily a bad thing it means that the cancer cell production his his spleen has slowed, however the readout said that there is possible new growth at the soft tissues near his pancreas , his levels are ok- not great but ok they are doing a chemo as we speak and he will get a blood transfusion and zomita treatment tomorrow , the doc has a specialist from dallas in next thursday and wants tobin to meet with them about a possible treatment in which they will do a bone marrow harvest then give him a lethal dose of chemotherapy and inject him him with the harvested marrow afterwards the lethal part scares us but dr watkins said that the marrow injected afterwards absorbs some of it - however it is altogether a 4-6 week treatment and it can only be done in dallas , so i dont know how we are gonna pull that one off yet , but i will worry about it when the time comes i guess, scool started this week layne -14- is in the 9th grade this year and happy to be at the top of the jr high food chain.still hanging out with those freaky kids in black haha like mother like daughter right? meredith-12- is in 7th and has made many friends in the few days since school started she has always been really personable. william -5- in kindergarten this year he was so excited to go until he got home his first day and learned what homework was haha he and meredith appear to be more interested in the fun and friends at school than the work , but thats normal right? anyways started my new job monday ,i have horrible pain in my back and feet-picked up some orthotics and they help a little - very little,but some is better than none .the people are really fun though and its nice to have people to talk to anyways i gotta get back to the hospital just wanted to throw the update in while it was semi fresh in my head

i'm back, part2 tomorrow it went well today except for the news about a lethal dose of chemo and they are going to harvest that is what the dr. called it anyways, harvest my marrow and i guess supercharge it and put it back in me, 4-6 weeks in a hospital in dallas then 4-6 weeks recovery time i meet with the dr. from dallas next thursday, and we will work from there the dates that this will happen, cancer sucks i really did not like the term lethal dose, the nurses said that they will take me to near death this ought to be fun, then they put the marrow back in supposedly pretty painful from what i hear but the fight must go on...tobin

i think that's a great idea! and i think the bone marrow thing will work. I had a friend's dad go through the same thing and he is fine now. best of wishes!

yeah they need to change the term from lethal dose to something else though, jenny handles all the medical research, i just fight it and deny all the bad stuff, can't let that get the upper hand you know, how is everything?...tobin

ok i lied , i read 2 threads tonight before bed ,i forgot i wrote this one -its been a long day -, i have a really ugly purple gmc jimmy 'the

jimbo' its a guzzler so i think we are going to trade vehicles with psychobob because his is better on gas i may even be able to plan it to where i can ride up with my mom on one of her ft worth business trips..all of this dallas stuff is not set in stone yet gotta hear what the specialist says first

anyone ever hear of him...dr. berryman???? if ya have ,can ya post thoughts/impressions ?

ok part-2 went ok i also got another zometa treatment, that reduces the calcium in my blood and puts it back in the bones, that stuff is what is causing my leg pain and makes me walk like i just crashed on a motorcycle hate it, but i need it, 2nd thing was a quarts worth of blood transfusion this was like my 7th one tired of those too, don't really like other peoples blood in me but like i stated whatever it takes, otherwise it went well today after the treatment i ate a plate full of buffaloe wings and had 2 beers i don't drink but today it seemed appropriate, feeling a little warm and fuzzy, and it feels good...tobin

the wings were good and the beers were cold and keep the prayers coming, can't get enough of any of the above. (really i don't drink much i stopped at 2)...tobin
