I am setting up a saltwater fish only tank which may be a reef tank later on. Is it okay to use a dried sea fan in an aquarium? I got one at hobby lobby that is yellow in color.

I wouldn't, if you got it at hobby lobby there is a very good chance it was dyed and you have no idea what the dye would do to your tank. Also anything fake like that tends to grow algae on it.
