Drilling holes in tanks

Anybody have any success in drilling holes for a sort of overflow. I have a 10 gal tank that I want to use for a sump or fuge but want to know if I can drill a hole for the return flow. What should I use. Don't know if I have an acrylic or glass. I will find out and post later.

i just did it in a ten gal glass tank. the damm drill bit cost $45.00 1 1/2 it's easy to do just go very slowwwwwwww and keep it wet

yes drilling a hole is an easy task! just make sure ur tank is not tampered (sp) (safty glass) it should say on the tank if not, then do it on ur own risk. and yes the bit cost an arm and a leg... i drilled 10 tanks so far and the bit is still good.. get the dimond tip once, cuts like butter.
