Drip Acclimation?

Hey everyone,
I saw a reference to a Drip Acclimation process for new livestock somewhere. Can anyone give me some info on how this works?

use airline tubing and tie a knot or two in their...then regulate it so that it drips a few drops every couple of seconds.

I as starting to think the main issue to be concerned about with acclimation is pH. If pH is the same, most of the other things are not as important, and acclimation does not need to be done over hours of dripping.
So far, I've never had problems with acclimation, and I've never dripped. I use a baster and take out most of original bag water, then add a squirt of new tank water every 3 minutes for about 15-30 minutes total (depending on difference in pH's). The drip theory is real safe though so if you have the time and patience, then it is the safest way to go.
In fringing reefs around islands, water salinities and temperatures vary quite rapidly due to mixing between (1) freshwater and saltwater, and (2) warmer surface and cooler deep waters. Yet plenty of hard corals including SPS corals proliferate in these areas.
Cheers,

I'll explain how I do it...then you can develope what works for you(but I do suggest some type system be used....gives corals/critters a better chance)
I have a refugium seperate from my display...I sit a 5 gal bucket near the refugium...place the bag in the bucket(sort of suspended in a large net)then I remove as much of the bag water as possible...run a air line tube with a used IV bag controller on it(regulates flow)....I start a syphon drip from the refugium into the suspended bag.......I let water from the refugium drip into the new bag over approximately 1-2 hours....slowly brings the new addition to same levels as my display...then I remove the new addition and place in the display.........works well for me
