I'm building a wet dry filter and plan to use a drip plate to get a even drip rate over the crushed lava. I was just going to start making 1/8" holes every half inch but I thought I would ask you guys first since it's allot of drill pressing. The plate is one foot square ABS plastic and the flow rate is 150 GPH.
I'm also planning on having pvc pipe with holes in it at the bottom of the wet dry filter blowing air up through the lava to increase the aerobic bacteria count. Does this sound like a good idea?
