dropping cash at the fast food drive through

ok, i work drive through tomorrow. it just occurred to me--- WHAT IF I DROP THE MONEY!!??
my friend bryt worked drive through for a few years and said that she did it all the time...
has this ever happened to you? like, while working or purchasing, either. how did you handle this situation?
UGH i know its gonna happen sooner or later and its gonna be SUPER embarassing.

I have worked with the public now for many years. Most are fairly forgiving for honest mistakes, but you will have that one moron or two that completely overreact. I am just thankful my days are not as ruff as theirs, and that is how I move along. Don't dwell.

when it has happened to me (purchasing) i got out of the car and picked it up (hopefully its not windy) but if they throw a conniption you'll have to replace the dropped money

you may ask your manager b4 you start the shift

I worked the window for a while and the money only dropped once... The got it. The person handing it to you always thinks it's their fault that it dropped... Just don't tell them if it was yours.

Right, if it is outside of the window, they will get it for you. Your fault or theirs. They don't get the food until you have the money. No sweat! If it is truly your fault then tell them that you are so very sorry.

It is only if you let it be. Even if it is your fault, you simply say, " Oh, my goodness, I am so sorry!!!" No big deal. They will not expect you to crawl out of the window. They will get it for you.

hence the smiley face meaning I was jk, no biggie for sure, the customer will get it if that happens, like someone said, they don't get the food until you get the money

i dropped a dime at the mc donalds drive through the other day then cracked my door open to grab it and there was a quarter there so i grabbed it and handed it to the guy - we laughed about it

Right, it happens ALL of the time. Nothing to worry about.

This has happened to me a couple of times (as a buyer). If its jsut change, i leave it. If its more than a dollar though, i hop out and get it. Once, it was windy and i had to run down the parking lot...a little embarrassing. But its never a big deal really. People, in general, are understanding. But like someone said, of course you are always gonna have those people that are just jerks.

When my cash was dropped it was always when the worker was looking into the building and handing me money.
Just make sure that you are placing the money in their hand with your full attention and you wont have a problem. If they drop it its their fault not yours
