Dry coral??

At my LFS they have dried coral, do these come back to life or are they permanently dead.

I think its possible to come back to life but HIGHLY unlikely. Someone please correct me if im wrong.

the dry coral that they sell in the cellophain is completely dead and bleached there is no way these can come back to life. they really arent that good of a purchase either because they harvest the live coral and let it dry out to make these center pieces.

No, once dead and dried out and usually bleached, nothing is coming back to life unless some mushrooms or polyps grow over it.

So what is the point of buying dry coral?

some people like they look of it so it sells. its one of those things IMO should not be bought.

I bought a piece of it from a flea market once because this kid was just going to smash it to pieces if I didnt, i put it in my freshwater aquarium so it wouldnt go to waist =]. Other than dire circumstances, I would say its a no-go on the dry coral too.
