my tank just finished cycling and i had measured nitrates about a week ago and they were at 15ppm and now my test are showing zero i was wondering if my dsb could be working already or could my test kit have gone bad that quick ive covered them right after i used them everytime and put them back in the box no sunlight and i havent done any waterchanges just added water for toping off

what kind of test kit are you using? i would not think the kit would have gone bad that quickly especially if you are caring for it in the manner explained. are you doing water changes on a frequent basis? water changes help keep trates under control. also what size is your tank?

It is possible that the DSB is responsible.Although they usually take awhile to become established.I would take a water sample to your LFS and have them test it.Then you will know if your test is accurate...
