DSB+Burrowing

I'm in the process of setting up a 29 with just a few Jawfish in it. Since these are burrowing fish, and I have a DSB of 6.5 inches I got to thinking... We're always told not to disturb sand beds as it can release the stored toxic gases and stuff... Well, once this tank has been up for a while and the DSB starts kicking in, can the Jawfish disturb it? Or do you think they will be doing so much constant burrowing that it won't be a "normal" DSB, any thoughts?

Wow, 6.5 inches??? Are you sure you want to do the DSB? I've just heard bad things about them.
I don't think burrowing animals are harmful to the tank. I think it's a quite a natural occurance.

I think with 6.5 of sandbed you'll be fine. He will disturbed the bed but i don't think he would cause a major problem. I usually don't like jawfish for that reason and for the fact that it would eat the fauna in sandbed.(is not a good idea for reef) But since you're going for it with a DSB then i think you'll do fine. that's the best you can do, give them a DSB...
