DSB colors, playsand, live sand

I saw some pics on the internet of dsb's and it looks like everyones dsb has 2 colors to it. Questions:
What color is playsand (quickcrete, southdown)?
What color is live sand?
Do the two ever mix in color? I was just thinking that a solid color would look more natural then white/brown combination.

I think what you are seeing is the light reflecting through the sand. This gives an appearance of two different colors (at least on my tank). But, I guess it could be two different types of sand as well.

I know what you are talking about, ive seen the same thing. Ive heard ppl say its best to put live sand on top(which is the light color you see, and the dark is some kind of playsand) but then ive heard others that mix the 2 together so they get a more natural look. If i cant get 2 sand that are similar in color im just going to mix live with playsand.
