Dsb Grrreeaat!!

After a few years of using CC in my tank and wasting a lot of time vaccuming the build up of dirt and wasted food, I decided to switch to a DSB 5+". What a difference! I switched about three months ago, and at first I thought I had made a mistake. I had several algea blooms and diatoms appeared on the sand but during the past six weeks, I have had crystal clear water, healthy fish and very limited algea growth. The only drawback is that some of my cleaning critters have starved to death.
I certainly recommend the switch but after you do it, be patient.

No need for the cleanup crew to suffer and starve, get some seaweed or nori, wrap it around a spare piece of acrylic, small rock, large shell with a rubber band. The hermits and emerald crabs will come a running. They make algea waffers, sinking pellets, lots of options.
