HI,ALL
I NEED SOME ADVICE.CAN I USE CRASHED SHELS OR CORALS TO MAKE DSB,ABOUT 3-4" ????
OR I NEED SAND FOR IT?

Word is sand is better in that waste does not get trapped between sand whereas cc will trap the waste. I too just changed over to live sand dsb. Much easier to maintain.

DSB stands for deep sand bed. Sand is a very key component for creating a DSB. You need to get a fine grain size sand. You can use Qwikcrete or Southdown playsand...then buy a couple pounds of live sand from you lfs and seed the playsand... ~or~...If you have an established tank with CC in it, you can fill a couple nylons with some CC and set them in the tank to seed the playsand. HTH :D
