dt phyto food

hi i just got some food at one of many lfs i seek out to feed my bubble tip anemonies and corals. that stuff works great. in two days i see my bta perking up and stretching out like when i had him the first 3 weeks again.

IMO anemones cannot even eat phyto; it's way too small for the anemone to even consume. Anemones are carnivores anyways. The BTA perks up because it can smell the phyto in the water.

I have read the same thing, so I will agree.

Exactly my point! :)
IMO anemones aren't filter feeders and cannot consume liquid phyto.

I agree, there is no need to use phyto for trying to feed anemones and too much of it can fowl your water, they are photosynthetic animals and meat eaters. Good call ViPeR

oh, so why do people rave over feeding there corals this stuff 3x/week. i do have mushrooms also but they are filter feeders too.

Almost all corals aren't filter feeders, including mushrooms. Just a few examples of what will eat phyto: bivalves, tunicates, sponges, zooplankton, some gorgonians, and protein skimmers. Phyto can feed zooplankton and pods which would then feed corals and fish.
