I have always been told "no" as they don't carry parasites. Just do a good acclimation.

Just don't put the water from them into your tank. I can carry fish diseases in the water from the water at the fish store. Most fish stores have systems that have a whole bank of tanks using the same water system. Lesley

you dont want to put LFS water in the tank due to copper medicines they may treat their tanks with.
