Likelihood to eat frozen foods, water flow requirements, Clean up crew compatability, tank mate comptability, over all hardiness, diet needs, maintenance to tank ....pretty much everything is different...lol
really small dwarf seahorses are not easy, you can barely see them, and they have to be in small tanks...like 5-10 gallons.....you could have a 2.5 gallon one for a dwarf i've heard. there not worth it really....

WHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT???????????????What..
What?????????????????
The ponies are awesome, but require extra work due to their need for live baby brine shrimp. neatest thing I love about them is that they breed often, 2-14 babies, and the babies are adorable

Dwarves are the most amazing creatures! They are small but they make up for it in personality!
They are entertaining to watch regardless of size, I can spend hours watching them hunt and even interacting with each other. I have moved a chair in front of the tank and spend more time than I should there, as does pretty much everyone who comes to visit.
I started with 10, had 4 babies, then had 6 more babies this morning. Aside from becoming quite proficient at hatching brine due to necessity (which is really not a hassle at all) the whole experience has been great!
I am starting a tank now so that I can try my hand at the bigger seahorses.
